Mobility of nodes highly effects the communication in delay tolerant networks. Due to network partitions traditional routing mechanisms are not viable so, DTN relies on store and forward strategy to route messages. One of the major objectives of delay tolerant network is to provide conductivity in those areas which were considered to be unapproachable such as to extend the concept of internet to space to interconnects planets and provide communication in underwater. In order to accomplish the mentioned objective some routing mechanism must be devised. Therefore, routing in delay tolerant network has become one of the hot research areas. Since last few years many researchers have explored challenging issues with respect to routing in DTN. There are two major objectives of our thesis work. First. we investigated performance of some well-known DTN routing protocols using various mobility models and provide a detail comparative analysis of these protocols in term of various parameters such as delivery ratio, overhead and latency at different buffer sizes, variable number of nodes, different transmission ranges and mobility models. We also surveyed various routing protocols for DTN proposed by different researchers and provide a detailed classification based on various features such as flooding or controlled flooding. historical or no historical. single copy or multiple copy and location aware or location unaware. Second, we proposed an algorithm called "Grid based routing algorithm" for delay tolerant network, which is basically an improved version of epidemic routing protocol. Grid based routing algorithm make use of the idea of location infonnation of nodes in order to control flooding and number of message transmission in network. The representation of a digital 2- dimensional image in computer is visualized a s 2-D arry. That is why th operations performed on these images are treated as if they were being applied on 2-D arrays. Traditional serial execution of these image processing operations in CPU is costly in items of execution time since there is only compute engine and a lot of data to process. These operations can be speed up to a noticeable extent if parallel processing techniques are applied in a well way. The NVIDIA compute unified device Architecture (CUDA) provides an Application Programming Interface (API) to writ te code which is partially parallel and can be executed on a Compatible Graph ics Processing Unit (GPU) in collaboration with the CPU. The serial part of the code executes on CPU and the parallel par1 of the code is seamlessly ported to the GPU. There are mainly two approaches for digital image filtering. In the spatial domain, the image is filtered by applying the filter mask directly on the Image pixels. In the frequency domain, the image is first transformed and then filtered fol lowed by transforming it back to the spatial domain. Since the digital image processing involves a lot of data processing and the operation being applied on all data elements (pixels) is most of the time same, they are the ideal candidates for the data level parallelism. This kind of parallelism can be implemented using CUDA with a compatible GPU since N VIDIA GPUs now available with hundreds of CPU cores and a significant amount of on chip memory. There are many noticeable research works that have been carried out to take advantage of CUDA in image processing. Thus the aim of this research is to find out the application of CUDA in the image filtering in frequency domain and to implement the Butterwort h Low pass filter in CUDA . Finally, the speed t'.p of the CUDA version of Butter Low pass filter is compared with its CPU-only version.

However. like other networks, primary source of data communication are protocols. The MAC (Medium Access Control) protocol determines when a wireless sensor transmits its sensor data. However, MAC protocols suffer from collisions and therefore it affects the eminency of wireless sensor networks. Therefore, efforts must be taken at MAC layer for improving the overall efficiency of the network. Ahis thesis provides a model of the LMAC (Lightweight- MAC) protocol for analyzing the probability of collisions for sensor nodes. Collisions occur hen nodes transmit data at same time using the same channels. In this work, we consider connected topologies consisting of five nodes. Ihe analysis is performed using the model checker UPPAAL. The results show that if the weighting rate of nodes (before transmitting data), is increased then the number of collisions also decreases. Furthermore, we also compare the results of five nodes with its 5.6. and 7 times slots based on the probability of collisions and propose an optimistic choice ofa network set-up that increases network performance and reduces network cost.

WiMAX, however, still faces some of the challenges; one of them is related to the implementation of a proper queuing mechanism at the MAC layer. Since the scheduling mechanism for WiMAX has left undefined in the standard, it is an open research topic. Several Researchers have suggested various queueing mechanisms by using different simulation tools and techniques, and many of them have been implemented by the WiMAX vendors. Different types of Internet applications have different bandwidth requirements and, therefore, various mobile Internet users demand for their due share on transmission channel in order to have an efficient and effective communication.. This requires an adaptive and efficient queuing mechanism that could also support multiple data services running concurrently. Delay in the scheduling process, throughput and priorities of data service are important aspects for any queuing algorithm. A fair queuing policy with less delay and good throughput is indeed a need of mobile WiMAX networks. This thesis work implements and evaluates different queuing mechanisms against the above mentioned parameters. For a test drive purpose, two common queuing mechanisms namely round robin & equiprobable have been assessed and compared on the designed MATLAB based simulation that shows round robin has better performance than equiprobable in terms of more throughput and less delay, while both mechanisms have almost same service priorities. In order to verify the results, statistical significance based future prediction model has been designed which also confirms the above mentioned results. The designed test bed could be used to evaluate any queuing mechanism and could also be customized for uplink and downlink Queueing mechanisms for both mesh and point-to-multipoint WiMAX networks.

IPv6 uses 128-bit address (16 bytes) gives 2/\128 address spaces, growth of IoT will be possible thanks to IPv6. Contiki is an open source. operating system for the Internet of Things connects tiny low power low cost, micro controllers to the internet. Connecting low power low rate, devices to internet was a challenge because embedded devices or Lo WPAN uses 802.15.4 as transport protocol and packet size of IPv6 packet is much larger than the packet size of 802.15.4. A new and complete solution was needed so that the wireless devices with low power and low processing capability can be a part of internet of things. To overcome this problem, 6LoWPAN standard defined by IETF has developed that enable the low power, low processing devices to connect to the internet. 6LoWPAN introduces an adaptation layer between the network and data link layers, allowing transmission of IPv6 packets to the lower layers. 6LoWPAN connects IPv6 and 802.15.4 to enable IP based communication among large number of devices. This thesis presents the Implementation of Contiki base real 6LoWPAN under OMNeT++ The implementation and configuration of Contiki base real 6LoWPAN is imported and integrated into the OMNeT++ platform and then evaluated against several network parameters and metrics for several simulation runs to analyze the behavior under different network conditions. The transport layer provides end-to-end communication to processes applications over the Internet and plays a major role in providing QoS. This QoS provided over transport layer protocols via Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol. (UDP). SCTP developed for Internet Protocol (IP) based network and several improvement obligations not found in UDP and TCP as well as compared to features, SCTP provides two. new features multihoming and multistreaming. All of these protocols are an important subject to the type of data which is being transmitted. This thesis presents comparative analysis between three transport layer protocols i.e. UDP, TCP and SCTP. These comparative analyses are mainly made of the text, voice and video data. Different QoS parameters like packet loss, throughput, and delay in transmission, average delay, and variance in delay were used to check the QoS over the transmission of different data types. All these QoS parameters were tested for all these protocols and results were collected. All the simulations were carried out in Network Simulator 2 (NS-2). After collecting the results and plotting them over graphs it was observed that these three protocols works efficiently with different data types and has a different impact on QoS parameters which were tested. The. experimental results show that the results of successful data transmission, delay, and other factors depend on the type of data which you are sending. These three different protocols had different results of QoS parameter for the transmission of different data types i.e. text, voice, and video data.

This offers a dedicated challenge to ascertain the veracity of a digital image, especially when it is to be presented as legal evidence. A number of techniques have been proposed to detect image forgery, albeit their respective efficacy depends on the type of forgery and image features. Moreover, their respective performance with respect to accuracy and execution time also varies. This thesis focuses on the most frequently used image forgery referred to as. copy move forgery. The work carried out in this thesis is two-fold. First. n hybrid approach combining the existing block-based and non-block-based techniques of copy-move forgery has been proposed. second, the performance of the proposed techniques has been evaluated with different image feature, including SIFT, SURF MSER, MinEgen, FAST and Harris. The evaluation criteria comprising accuracy, Precision, recall and execution time help to select a desired tradeoff between accuracy and execution time. The results proposed in the thesis show that the proposed image forgery detection technique can successfully detect copy-move forgery with remarkably high accuracy and reasonable execution time. Apart from this, the proposed technique also works fine with the smoothed and brightened images.

Performance Analysis of NBMU & Samo Classification Techniques used for Textual Information

It is difficult to classify millions of text documents manually because it requires more time and resources. Therefore, text classification is widely used for organizing text automatically. In this research, two classification techniques Naive Bayes Multinomial Updateable (NBMU) and Sequential Minimal Optimization (SMO) were applied on dataset. According to results, it was observed that, the combination of Rainbow Stopword (R) and Snowball Stemmer (SS) in NMBU classifier yielded the maximum accuracy (83%) while taking nominal time (0.07 sec) compared to other combinations of stemmers and stopwords removal. Whereas the SMO classifier yielded high accuracy (80%) by three different combinations of stemmers and stopwords removers, (Wordsfromfile) Stopword and Lovins Stemmer (WFF_LS), Regexpfromfile Stopword and Lovins Stemmer (REFF_LS),Regexpfromfile Stopword and Snowball Stemmer (REFF_SS)). However, the time taken for building the model was significantly high (500 - 1000 times higher). Based on the results of this research, it is suggested that the R & SS combination of stopwords remover and stemmer, respectively, in NMBU classifier perform best across the other selected combinations in terms of accuracy. By analysing the results, it is observed that the overall performance of SMO classifier in terms of accuracy is quite high on average compared to NBMU classifier. It was noted that the time that was taken by NBMU classifier was significantly low, compared to SMO classifier. Despite that, SMO is suggested to be utilised for the text classification due to the fact that the overall performance of this classifier is significantly higher in term of accuracy and that the text classification is a difficult task to perform, therefore, the difference in the time taken by NBMU and SMO become negligible and compensated by better accuracy.

In this concern, the wireless sensors become more compact and significantly evolved over last few years. However, power source/battery of sensor nodes deployed in the field are mainly un-chargeable and unchangeable, so, it faces the problem of limited life time. In WSNs sensor nodes collect data and transmit it to BS. Mostly, WSNs perform energy extensive task and consumes reasonable amount of energy in communication operations result in degradation of life of network. Whereas, energy efficient techniques are required to improve the life time of sensor networks. Thus, low Energy Adaptive Clustering (LEACH) is the basic energy efficient hierarchical routing protocol proposed to prolong network life time. However, LEACH experience some limitations with respect to energy consumption with degradation in network life time. In this regard, a new scheme Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchical Probability Influenced Factor Energy (LEACH-PIPE) is proposed in this study. Though, the main goal of LEACH-PIPE is to reduce energy consumption and to extend network life time by introducing advertisement (ADV) message packet and discarding border nodes in proposed scheme. Furthermore, LEACH-PIPE has the feature to select the best energy node as CH using a probability function based on maximum residual energy and minimum distance to BS. Moreover, modification in LEACH-PIPE algorithm results in satisfactory improvement as compared to Direct Transmission (DT) and LEACH. To validate the energy effectiveness of LEACH-PIPE MATLAB2015A is used as the simulation tool. The results demonstrate the LEACH-PIPE attains the best network life time with improved system remaining system and reduced in energy consumption and low traffic load a compared to DT and LEACH.

Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has proposed a new protocol called the DCCP for congestion control as well as the fast data transmission rate. DCCP is at peak for the researchers due to its lightweight and simple design. This thesis evaluates the performance of DCCP protocol. In order to see its performance it is compared with the TCP. The experiments are carried on scenario of 8 nodes, 32 nodes as well on the scenario where the links are redundant. In all of the experiments the throughput generated by DCCP is greater than TCP.

The network speed could be managed, whereas the protocol re-design requires so many efforts for the optimized performance. In order to design a new protocol it is necessary to understand the network conditions by monitoring the network traffic. The thesis presents a detailed analysis of the network traffic over streams·of video and audio. For that, the most widely used protocol i.e., TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is used. For the experimentation a tested have been implemented, which consists of a Remote PC and a Host PC. The PCs are placed at different rooms. Different scenarios are proposed to stream video and audio from Remote PC to the Host PC. The basic TCP parameters monitored are Retransmission , Fast Retransmission, spurious retransmission, duplicate Packets, keep alive packets, lost segments, and out-of-order and RTO packets. Two famous remote desktop tools, TeamViewer and AeroAdmin, are used for the streaming and the Wireshark is used for the analysis of network traffic. From the evaluation of the remote desktop tools it is observed that, the bad TCPs parameters in TeamViewer are less when compared with the Aeroadmin.

In many applications such as wireless sensor networks, the device could be attacked to a CR in order to find out the free spectrum. The technique uses the free bands without affecting the legitimate users. One of the most com on attacks is the primary user' emulation (PUE).. Where, an attacker uses the available resource while duplicating the features of a valid user. In order to minimize the PUE attack the transmitter verification is necessary. For. that while using the CR, location verifers are used. Based on the verification these .location verifers the allocation of resources is granted to the valid users. This work evaluates the famous transmitter verification schemes called Distance Difference Ratio (DDT) and Distance Ratio Test (DRT). A scenario is proposed on which attacker, primary user and the location verifers are configured. Through expensive experiments of 81 simulations it is observed that the DDT is a promising technique to minimize the PUE when compared with the DRT. The attacker detection rate on average of DRT is 11.1o/o and DDT is 25.9% in the given scenario. Further, the location-based schemes can be used in future with CR for more accurate detection of the PUE attack.

Nawabshah: QUEST, 2019 . 114p. ; , ABSTRACT Technological innovation and miniaturization trends have paved the way for sensor nodes to be placed on, around or inside the human body to monitor different biological aspects through Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN). Nodes in a WBAN monitor, process and communicate data among themselves or to the sink node in a wireless mode. The transmission of sensitive data over the wireless medium requires reliable and secure communication so that the data can be kept safe from malicious nodes. However, reliable and secure data transmission in WBANs is a challenging task. The conventional biometric-based cryptographic algorithms are not suitable for secure data routing in WBANs due to their complexity, resource consumption and incapability to counter the node-misbehavior attacks. On the other hands, trust-based routing schemes have proved to be light-weight schemes that require less number of resources in providing secure and reliable communication to deal with the node-misbehavior attacks. Moreover, wireless communication among WBAN nodes produce electromagnetic radiation which result in temperature rise that could be harmful to sensitive tissues, particularly around the implanted nodes. Therefore, secure and temperature-aware routing protocols are of prime importance for WBANs. However, most of the existing temperature-aware routing protocols are developed with the aim to reduce temperature-rise, whilst overlooking other critical factors such as energy, security, reliability and QoS. This negatively affects network lifetime, transmission delays and network throughput, in this thesis, we propose a novel protocol with QoS provisioning for WBANs referred to as Trust, Energy and Temperature-aware Routing protocol (TETRP). This multi-facet routing protocol routes data packets through efficient links having highly trusted, energy-efficient and hotspot-free nodes. The simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme improves throughput by 33%, end-to-end delay by 36%, network lifetime by 32%, packet delivery ratio by 24%, temperature reduction by 10% and routing overhead reduction by as compared to the state-of-the-art routing schemes.
