ABSTR ACT

In the present time of globalization, commercial units arc acquiring new tools and techniques and way to produce quality products in order to survive in the cut throat competition among the business organization. The most prominent problem to organization is that how to deliver quality product and to satisfy the customer. Among the various solutions Lean Manufacturing is the one of the best solutions to
cope with the problem.

This study addresses how the Lean Manufacturing techniques are implemented i n the sugar industry located in the vicinity of Nawab shah, Pakistan. The study was census survey covering three sugar mills named Al-Noor, Sakrand and Habib Mills registered by Pakistan Board and are in operation more than fifteen years. The data were collected with the help of structured questionnaire from the quality assurance and Production departments of selected sugar mills. The data then were analyzed.
through SPSS-22 software for statistical analysis.

It was found from the results the Lean tools are being implemented more effectively at Habib Sugar mills as compared to Sakrand and Al-Noor sugar mills. The Overall positive correlation were observed from the developed correlation matrix amongst different variables of Lean tools. The results of un-standardized coefficients Value Stream Mapping (2.699) at Sakrand sugar mills, Continuous Involvement Practice (2.70) at Al-Noor sugar mills and TQM (4.33) at Rabil;> sugar mills has great impact on factory time efficiency. However, there are also some factors as Employee Involvement practice, Value Stream Mapping practice, Production Smoothing Practice and New Technology impact negatively on factory time efficiency need to be
improved.
